Max`s in Allen

Amazing donuts! They are literally like no other. The smokey's (hot dog with cheese in dough) - OMG! So good! We just moved here a few months ago and have tried most of the donut shops in Allen. I would rate this as #1. Shin's #2.

This is not the Max's I grew up with. The donuts have an after taste some days. They have changed the quality of the ingredients. The kolaches are so different. Are they still better than most, yes, but I don't go out of my way for them anymore. Please fix them!

I read someone say this place has the best kolaches...they're good but not the best. Their dough is a bit too heavy for me, I prefer a light airy dough. But this is a nice place with friendly staff.

Get there early, line gets out the door. Great donuts.

I consider myself a donut officianado, having tried many, many donut shops in the Midwest. Max's is my favorite glazed donut. You can't go wrong. In weekends, customers leave with a dozen or more and a smile on their face.

BEST DOUGHNUT I'VE EVER HAD COMES FROM MAXES. it's Allen's little secret and it boy are they good doughnuts! Also, they're not terribly expensive either!

Hot Glazed donuts made fresh every day. Open at 5am for all the early birds. The glazed donuts are the ones to get. You can tell they are fresh because if you pray in the back you can see them on the conveyor belt line. It's like Krispy Kreme but local and way better. The donuts are good size and soft and fluffy. The line is always busy but that's usually the best sign that this place is doing their donuts right. So far this is my favorite donut shop since I moved here.

I used to talk this place up to everyone and now I can't do that anymore. When we first moved to Allen 11 years ago we were told "if you don't eat at Max's you're wasting your money", now the opposite is true. I thought it was just transition in ownership and it would right itself, but I was wrong. The beef smokeys used to be so light and airy, and you never left with them cold. Now its like eating a dense ball of dough. And the donuts themselves were dried out and the chocolate eclair had almost no filling. Its a sad day to watch an establishment that was once the end all be all of donuts in Allen become just another donut shop.

Without a doubt, the BEST DONUTS I have ever eaten. Always a line, but the plain glazed donuts ate ALWAYS warm & fresh. One bite just seems to dissolve on your mouth & before you realize it your precious morcel is gone leaving you wanting no needing more. You literally can't eat just one. If you can, you are a better person than I.

when you walk in, there is a modest setting, but as you start to order, you realize how generous and kind the staff is. additionally, the donuts are absolutely wonderful, they are just melt-in-your-mouth good. the perfect amount of glaze to dough ratio. we love this little neighborhood donut shop, and we will certainly be here again.

Melt in your mouth donuts, kolaches, cinnamon rolls! Max's Donuts has been in business for years and they're definitely the best I've ever eaten. Allen is lucky to have this shop.

I've been going here since i was a kid. I am not a small man by any means. So I can say with confidence I have tried donuts all over this country in my travels. Without a doubt these are the best donuts money can buy. Do yourself a favor stop here and get donuts. Just be careful if you dont live close by because once you've had one of their donuts no other donut will compare. All other donuts for the rest of your life will be second to these donuts and will leave you wanting these donuts. I recommend the chocolate glazed donut or chocolate glazed donut holes. You are probably going to need milk also. Fantastic place if I could rate this place ten stars i would.

These are the best donuts ever. There is no shop that comes close to how good these are. Yes it’s worth going to Allen, yes it’s worth waiting in line and you will do it again and again because they are just that freaking amazing.

Max's donuts are the best in town. Their classic glazed donut melts in your mouth. It's an experience is all I can say. We have yet to eat any of their donut or kolaches that we haven't liked!I also loved that masks are required and appreciate their commitment to social distancing. We are lifetime customers for sure!

I wouldn't call Max's Donut Shop a donut shop. I would call it a little taste of heaven. I have had many donuts in my life time, however these are very different. It's almost like a cake. Very fluffy, however with substance to them. A friend of mine says they are the best donuts in Allen. I would recommend you to stop by and give them a try.

The yummiest donuts EVER and they totally changed the donut hole game! They're also the only donuts in history to be tasty the next day, I didn't even know that was possible! I live in far north east McKinney and pass many donut shops to get to this one, it's worth it 😊

I've lived in Allen for 27 years and this place was very unique and delicious. Now it's gone down hill. I was told they didnt change the recipe for the smokies which is obviously not true because now they're just a shell of what they used to be . Now it's just the run of the mil donut shop. Sad that the new owners wanna penny pinch and clearly go for lesser quality ingredients. I hope one day they realize the mistake they made and go back to what it was since they opened. IF IT ISNT BROKE DONT FIX IT.

Saying the donuts here are amazing, is totally under - selling it. Their donuts are like the softest fluffiest clouds with a light, crisp, exterior, and the perfect chewiness, that just melt in your mouth. They are larger than any donuts I've seen elsewhere, and one or two will fill you up, while leaving you craving more.

Nothing fancy about this place just your normal donut shop but these donuts are amazing best around i drive 20 miles to this donut shop passing many other donut shops normally a short wait in line but well worth it i highly recommend giving them a try the cinnamon rolls are the best ive ever had from any donut shop an they are huge

If you want these amazing donuts there is a long line. But you will get through pretty quickly! They are very nice and get through everyone's orders efficiently and with a smile! Love this place❤

Donuts were better than I've had at any other place here in Dallas. I've still had way better though.

Best donuts and kolaches!! The glazed donuts are melt in your mouth delicious and the kolaches are my favorite.

Absolutely not the same owners as last year, these are now average at best donuts and that is very sad that they have all the awards still up from when the donuts and kolaches were really good, I will not be back. Horrible

I grew up in Allen since I was little, and Max’s was a highlight every Saturday. Over the past year, our visits have gotten less and less enjoyable.The donuts use to have there own unique look and didn’t follow a typical donut shape, every donut was glazed, even if it would have an additional flavor, and the donuts were light and airy, instead of dense and heavy.I’m so disappointed that a change in ownership, has compromised the integrity of of such a classic experience.

If you like fresh, huge, melt in your mouth donuts, then this is the donut store for you! My kids and I tried the strawberry glazed, sugar bowtie, and glazed sprinkle. We gave them 2 thumbs up!! We will definitely be visiting again soon! Busy place, lots of customers, must say something for their taste & quality. Come and try for yourself.

OH MY GOD THIS IS THE BEST DONUT PLACE EVER HANDS DOWN NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY! Lol, sorry bout that. The glazed donuts here are amazing, a mix of soft and a little crunchy, it's amazing. The cinnamon rolls are great, and the chocolate donuts are out of this world. The smokies are also very good. The place is small, could use an expansion, but that's what makes it the homemade/ small town feel. Though the line is longest at 9 because it goes all around the shop. Other than that it's perfect! 10/10

These are the best donuts! Huge! Best prices around. The cinnamon rolls are as big as your face, and you won't find one for less. I recommend adding a little protein with the sausage rolls. The breading is amazing!

Best donuts in Allen hands down! But not a very good business model. On a Sunday morning you better get there early cuz by 9:30 they're out of things even though they're still open for a few more hours. Don't understand that. Losing sales because they wanna break even by end of day. Today I bought my donuts elsewhere because you were not prepared. 😒

Very sad to say this place isn’t as it used to be. The beef smokey’s are dense and hard. The donuts are not as airy and do not melt in your mouth like they used to. The new owners clearly have changed the recipe and integrity of what used to be the best donut shop in Allen.

I went at 10:30am and everything was empty! There was one tray in the window with a few donuts then a few donuts in a few scattered trays on the racks. Then a group of 4 very old men just staring my family of 2 and I down . Made us feel really uncomfortable. This use to be a good place to go now it's just poor. They didn't even bothering offering to heat up my jalapeno kolaches . Gave them to me cold!

Regardless of people saying that this shop “used to be so good but has now gone down hill,” it’s still wonderful. I just started going about 2 months ago and have gone about 5 times sense. Everything I have gotten there I've been very pleased with. The chocolate and glazed donuts and delicious and if that was all they sold, that would totally be enough. Also yeah, they run out often. That’s not a bad thing! Im actually planning on going around 7am tomorrow to get some for my coworkers and I. Early bird gets the worm!

I happily drive by at least 10 other donut shops to wait in a long line to enjoy a hot glazed donut from Max's. Their sausage rolls are great as well. The donut sizes are nearly double what other places serve and it is cheaper as well.

The Holy Grail of donuts. Yes, I'm serious. The line was long, yet went quickly. The donuts are dense and just the right amount of sweet. Truly a gem!
